The biography of Henry Bowyer Joseph Lane was originally published in vol. VIII (1985) because it was thought that he had died in England soon after leaving Canada in 1847. After carrying out extensive research, author Stephen A. Otto was able to complete Lane’s story, following him to Australia, where he died in 1878.

On 3 December 2013, a launch was held for Réal Bélanger’s book Henri Bourassa. Le fascinant destin d’un homme libre (1868–1914), published by Les Presses de l’Université Laval.

The University of Toronto appoints David A. Wilson as the sixth general editor of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography
